A Chardonnay-Fiano Evening
Sometimes you don’t need a big menu. Today it was simply pizza and a glass of Chardonnay-Fiano from Apulia. The wine is soft, fruity, and uncomplicated – exactly the kind of bottle you can open without to much thought.
It paired best with the simple things:
Margherita – fresh and classic, it really lets the fruitiness of the wine shine.
White Pizza ( Bianca) – no tomato sauce, just cheese; works beautifully with the wine’s light acidity.
Vegetable Pizza – zucchini, bell peppers, mushrooms; brings out the wine’s fruitniness even more.
Seafood-Pizza – shrimp or tuna; perfect with the wine’s Mediterranean character.
Not so good: heavy meat pizzas or overly spicy toppings – they overpower the wine.
