Grauburgunder at Lake Walchsee

We treated ourselves to a relaxing weekend at Lake Walchsee. A resort with heated pool, sauna, and massages – it’s just the right thing to unwind. Surrounded by mountains, and fresh air, and pure nature.

The sunset over the mountains was especially beautiful – that warm light makes everything feel calmer. And in the morning, the sunrise was equally stunning; it felt as if nature was slowly waking up the day. I’m one of those people who likes to get up early and go for a walk – it’s especially peaceful in the mountains. It’s not everyone’s thing, but for me, it’s a moment I truly enjoy.

In the evening, we went to a traditional „Wirtshaus“. Wood, warm lighting, that familiar scent of home-style cooking. Instead of ordering a Radler, I went for a glass of Pinot Gris from Weingut Lentsch in Donnerskirchen (Bugenland, Austria). The menu described it as a „juicy, elegant, with a touch of lemon on the finish – versatile and easy to pair.“

Wine Notes:

Wine: Weingut Lentsch – Grauburgunder ( Pinot Gris), Leithaberg, Burgenland (Austria)

Color: Pale yellow, clear

Aroma: Light fruit, a hint of apple

Taste: Fresh, juicy, with a touch of lemon; easy to drink

Mood: Perfect after a day of sauna and pool, with the sunset over the mountains still in mind

Overall Impression: A classic everyday wine – simple, versatile, and a great fit for the evening.
